Common Questions

Do you work with insurance companies?

We do! We work with all insurance companies. At Fort Collins Hail & Dent Repair we work hard to make the repair process as easy and painless as possible. In our efforts to do so we can deal entirely with your insurance company so you don't have to worry about the repair process.

So whether you need help filing a claim, reading the estimate you were given or just have any questions, we are here to help!

What is the hail repair timeline and process?

The timeline is dependent on the amount of damage and how quickly the insurance company will approve the damage repair amount. Below is the process:

  1. A Claim is filed. This is something you can do on your own or we can assist you with the process.

  2. Initial estimate is preformed (typically by either your insurance company or a third party that your insurance has approved to write estimates).

  3. A supplemental estimate is filed. Foco PDR will preform another estimate to look for any damage that may have been missed from the first estimate.

    • Please Note: The average initial estimate is typically 40-60% less than the actual amount of damage on your vehicle.

  4. The supplement is then approved by the insurance company after an adjuster has the chance to look over the vehicle a second time.

  5. Repairs are started once the supplement is approved.

  6. We take off certain parts of the car (i.e. the hood and trunk) to help make access and repairs easier.

  8. The car goes back together and any parts that need replacing (i.e. windshields, moldings, third break lights)

  9. The car is re-examined to ensure no dents were missed.

  10. Once we are satisfied with repairs we then deliver the vehicle back to you.

  11. Mini celebration of having a fresh dent free car back!

What is Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?

Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is the method of repairing dents, dings and creases on vehicles. What makes PDR valuable is the fact that the original paint is being saved as well as the original factory panel. PDR can be preformed on all types of dents and dings of all different sizes. Invented by the Germans at Mercedes in the early 1930s, PDR was born to assist in repairing door dings that new vehicles in Mercedes factory sustained after they had gone through the paint both. For the first 40-50 years PDR was only performed by car manufactures during production of their vehicles. In the mid 80s is when PDR was discovered as the best and fastest way to repair cars that have been damaged by hail. Since then the industry has grown more repairs have been made possible by the advent of new tools and new ideas the industry comes up with each year.
